Reimagining a Global Partner Process—and Eliminating 4,000+ Hours of Manual Work
Digital Transformation • Process Innovation • Marketing Operations • Partner Experience • Automation • Cross-Functional Leadership
What happens when a critical global partner process has grown so complex that thousands of hours are spent every year simply keeping it running?
You don't just make the existing process faster.
You rethink the process itself.
While managing marketing programs for Intel's global partner ecosystem, I served as the business stakeholder and strategic partner for a major transformation of the annual partner renewal process.
Working across Marketing, IT and business teams, we used PEGA business process management technology to replace a highly manual global workflow with a streamlined, integrated process.
The transformation eliminated approximately 4,000 hours of manual work, improved consistency and scalability, and created a better digital experience for Intel's partners.
The Challenge
Intel's global partner program required an annual renewal process involving partners across markets and regions.
Behind what appeared to partners as a relatively simple renewal was an extremely complex operational workflow.
Data had to be collected and validated. Business requirements had to be reviewed. Approvals needed to happen. Partner communications had to be coordinated. Systems needed to remain synchronized. Exceptions had to be managed.
And much of that work required manual intervention.
At the scale of Intel's global partner ecosystem, even small inefficiencies multiplied quickly.
The opportunity wasn't simply to automate individual tasks.
It was to rethink how the entire renewal experience should work.
Reimagining the Workflow
I represented the marketing and business requirements as a stakeholder and influencer in the development of the new process.
Rather than starting with the existing workflow and asking how technology could automate it, we examined what the future-state experience needed to accomplish—for both Intel and its partners.
The redesigned workflow connected the major stages of renewal:
Data Collection → Automated Workflow → Review & Approval → Partner Notification → Renewal Complete
PEGA provided the technology foundation to orchestrate the workflow, but technology alone wasn't the transformation.
The real work was defining the business logic, simplifying processes, identifying dependencies and translating business requirements into an automated experience that could operate consistently at global scale.
Connecting Business Strategy and Technology
One of the most important aspects of the initiative was bridging the needs of Marketing and the business with the capabilities of IT.
I worked as the business stakeholder to help:
- Define business and partner requirements
- Identify inefficiencies in the existing renewal process
- Reimagine the future-state workflow
- Align stakeholders around new processes
- Support development of business rules and automation
- Integrate the process with updated customer-facing digital experiences
- Drive adoption of the new operating model
This required more than implementing software.
It required understanding how people, processes, technology and the partner experience intersected—and then designing a solution around all four.
From Manual Work to Intelligent Workflow
The new PEGA-enabled environment replaced repetitive manual activities with a coordinated digital workflow.
Information moved through defined business rules and approval processes, reducing the need for teams to manually track activities and move information between stages.
Automation created greater consistency while allowing teams to focus their time on work requiring judgment, partner engagement and strategic decision-making.
For partners, the transformation also supported an improved digital experience by better connecting the operational process behind renewal with the customer-facing platform.
The Impact
The redesigned process eliminated approximately 4,000+ hours of manual work from the annual global renewal cycle.
Beyond the time savings, the transformation created:
- A more streamlined global renewal process
- Greater operational consistency
- Improved scalability
- Reduced manual intervention
- Better integration between internal workflows and partner-facing systems
- A stronger foundation for future process innovation
The project was recognized internally by Intel's IT organization with a Department Recognition Award.

Why It Matters Today
The technology has evolved dramatically since this transformation—but the principle behind it has become even more relevant.
Today, AI, automation and intelligent workflow platforms give organizations an unprecedented opportunity to rethink how work gets done.
But simply adding technology to an inefficient process doesn't create transformation.
The opportunity is to redesign the workflow first—and then use technology and AI to make it smarter, faster and more scalable.
That is the mindset I brought to the PEGA transformation, and it's the same mindset I bring to AI-enabled marketing operations today.
Leadership Perspective
Digital transformation isn't an IT project.
It happens when business strategy, customer experience, process design and technology come together around a better way of working.
The PEGA renewal transformation reinforced something I've carried throughout my career:
Don't automate complexity. Reimagine it.
Technology is most valuable when it removes friction, improves the human experience and gives people more time to focus on the work that actually creates value.
