Aechelon Rebrand
Transforming a decades-deep AI and simulation leader into a modern,
market-ready brand
Brand Strategy • Digital Transformation • Corporate Communications • Content Strategy • PR • Marketing Operations
Aechelon Technology had built a strong reputation for advanced real-time computer graphics and simulation technology, serving sophisticated aerospace, defense and government customers. The opportunity was to ensure the company’s brand and digital presence reflected the innovation, technical depth and market leadership behind its technology.

Aechelon Technology Brand Transformation
I led a comprehensive transformation of Aechelon’s marketing foundation—reimagining the brand, rebuilding the corporate website, modernizing the company’s digital presence and creating a scalable marketing ecosystem to support future growth.
The Challenge
Aechelon had an extraordinary technology story, but its external brand and digital experience were not communicating the full strength of the company.
The challenge went beyond redesigning a website. We needed to create a cohesive brand experience that could translate highly complex technology into compelling, accessible stories for customers, partners, media and other stakeholders—while preserving the technical credibility Aechelon had built within the simulation and defense community.
My Approach
I approached the transformation as a business and brand initiative rather than simply a creative project.
Working with executive leadership, internal subject-matter experts, and a small team of employees and external partners, I developed a new visual and messaging foundation for Aechelon and translated it across the company's digital and communications ecosystem.
The work included a complete corporate rebrand and new logo, development and launch of a new corporate website, content and messaging strategy, video and visual storytelling, PR and media communications, marketing technology and internal communications.
I also introduced new processes and tools designed to make marketing more scalable, measurable and effective.
Building the New Digital Experience
The centerpiece of the transformation was a completely redesigned corporate website.
Over a six-month period, I led the strategy, content development, creative direction, and launch of a new digital experience encompassing:
- 75+ website pages
- 30 videos
- 100+ press releases and supporting content
- New corporate positioning and messaging
- New visual identity and brand standards
- Product and technology storytelling designed for complex technical audiences
The objective wasn't simply to make Aechelon look different. It was to make the company's innovation easier to understand, explore, and communicate.
Expanding Aechelon's Global Visibility
The transformation extended beyond the website into corporate communications, PR, and industry engagement.
I developed and managed communications programs that generated approximately 200 media exposures across 15 countries and nine languages, helping expand awareness of Aechelon's technology and market presence.
One major media initiative (Project Orbion) brought together 35 members of the press, creating an opportunity to demonstrate Aechelon's technology directly and build deeper relationships with influential industry media.
I also oversaw marketing support for approximately 10 industry events and trade shows annually, ensuring the new brand translated consistently from digital experiences into the physical customer experience.
Creating the Marketing Foundation for Growth
Behind the visible brand transformation was an equally important operational transformation.
I implemented HubSpot Marketing Hub and established new capabilities for demand generation, lead nurturing, and marketing communications. I also modernized internal communications and built stronger infrastructure for managing marketing programs across the organization.
With a $2.5 million marketing budget and a lean team of four employees and contractors, prioritization was critical. I focused investment on initiatives that could simultaneously strengthen the brand, improve the customer experience and create reusable marketing capabilities.
The Impact
The result was more than a new website or logo.
Aechelon emerged with a modernized brand, a substantially stronger digital presence, and a scalable marketing foundation to support its next stage of growth.
The transformation helped position the company more clearly within the aerospace and defense technology ecosystem while giving customers, partners, media and prospective employees a much stronger understanding of the innovation behind Aechelon.
The work also supported executive positioning and the company's acquisition readiness leading into Aechelon Technology's acquisition by Shield AI.

Leadership Perspective
Great brand transformations aren't cosmetic.
They happen when brand, technology, customer experience, content, and operations work together.
For Aechelon, the most important part of the transformation wasn't simply changing how the company looked. It was building a marketing platform capable of conveying the technology's sophistication—and laying the foundation the company needed for what came next... acquired by Shield AI!
